Symbian and Cingular haved announced that they have teamed up to help support developers. Cingular Deluxe developers will receive complimentary Symbian Affiliate status and Cingular have become a Symbian Platinum Partner. Cingular have also added a new Symbian Zone to their devCentral developer portal.

Nokia today announced the winner of its S60 3rd Edition Challenge competition. The grand prize winners were QuickOffice, Foeca, InfoTalk and Augmentra. The global developer compeition was designed to encourage innovative development on the S60 platform.
According to Digital Chosunilbo, Samsung will tomorrow launch the SGH-i520 S60 smartphone. The phone runs on Symbian 9.2 and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1. NTT DoCoMo recently announced its new 903i range of 3G FOMA phones. Seven out eleven run on Symbian OS, the D703i, F903i, SH903i, SO903i, D903iTV, SH903iTV and F903iX. New to the 903i series is out of the box support for the WMA format for music (inlcuding DRM), support for DoCoMo's DCMX™ mobile credit card and IC cards with triple the storage of conventional cards. Some of the handsets support the new Keitai-Osagashi Service (GPS) service which adds an additional range of location based services.

Symbian's developer website, Symbian Developer Network, has been relaunched to coincide with next week's Symbian Smartphone Show. The revamped site now includes web based discussion forums, a wiki, reorganised content and a clearer navigation system.
UIQ has announced the launch of the UIQ Developer Advisory Board which is aimed at helping various companies that target UIQ developers coordinate their activities. The advisory board will meet on a regular basis to discuss the best way that the industry can use its resources to help support developers. The board will actively seek feedback and input from developers over which issues should be addressed.
Nokia and Orb Networks announced on Tuesday that the Orb MyCasting service would be integrated in the Nokia N80 Internet Edition out of the box (starting in the US market). Orb allows you to view images and other multimedia stored on your home computer from your mobile anywhere in the world.
