Eagle eyed James has spotted that the Nokia N95 detects whether photos are snapped in portrait or landscape mode - it seems the device has a level sensor! Which begs the question why the general interface and other apps don't use this, of course..... Still, pretty cool.

The Open C SDK plug-in for developers is now available from Forum Nokia. Open C is built on top of Symbian PIPs and together they together they provide a number of standard, familiar C function libraries on the S60 platform. This allows the reuse existing code from other platforms speeding up development time and cost.
The team behind the Nokia NSeries WOM World have started using Twitter. If you have an account, thenyou can keep up to date with all the Nseries news and links from around the web at their Twitter page. Nice to see mainstream companies testing out the new Web 2.0 world!
Although not Symbian-specific, AAS audio podcast 19 is well worth a listen, if only because Ewan managed to catch Jeff Hawkins (the guy behind the PalmPilot, Handspring Treo, etc.) and talks to him about his theories on how the brain works and how this can be applied to mobile computing.
In part three of our series of reviews Steve looks at the camera performance and functionality of the Nokia N95. The review focuses on still image capture (we'll look at video capture later) and makes a direct comparison with a dedicated digital camera.
