Nokia have quietly shipped a new version of the PC portion of Lifeblog, the multimedia life recording tool. The new features include the addition of a tag engine, the addition of a new 'stacking' view parameter to the time line, improved slide show creation and viewing and support for basic image editing.
At the recent CTIA event the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announced that the core specifcation for Bluetooth 2.1 will soon be made available to vendors. Devices using the new specification are already being demoed and commercial availability will follow shortly. Bluetooth 2.1 allows for easier pairing of devices (including a provision to use NFC), uses less power and is more secure.

The BBC has announced plan to begin a 12 month trial to syndicate its TV channels over 3G mobile phone networks in the UK with operators 3, Orange and Vodafone. A number of radio channels will also be available. Separately the BBC has also announced an enhanced version of the BBC Mobile site.
Krisse has been playing an alternative to Nokia's free/built-in Snake variant. Do the powerups and boss levels take it past the more famous 3D version? Not really, the game looks and sounds uninspired and there are problems in the gameplay. Here's the review of Snake Deluxe.

Nokia today announced the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic handset. The 5700 is a 3G (WCDMA 2100) quad-band GSM phone that has the same twist design as the earlier 3250 (but is smaller and lighter). The 5700 has a 2.0 megapixel camera, microSD card slot (supports cards up to 2GB for storing around 1,000 tracks), stereo speakers, and a 2.5mm audio jack. Its runs S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 (Symbian 9.2).
You probably didn't make CTIA 2007 and the Symbian-sponsored Smartphone Summit, but don't worry - Symbian CEO Nigel Clifford's keynote and various interviews are all online for viewing at your convenience. Video quality isn't perfect, but still well worth a look.
Forum Nokia has announced the launch of the Forum Nokia Wiki which aims to create a useful resource for developers for sharing knowledge, how to's, code snippets and more. Any Forum Nokia member (free registration) can and is encouraged to contribute to the content and evolution of the Wiki.
