Show Notes:
Jeff Hawkins may be the founder of Palm Computing, the man behind the Handspring Treo, who courted Psion to use his PDA Transfer Software (HotSync) instead of writing their own (FYI Psion turned him down and wrote Psi-Win - whoops). But his real goal in life is to understand how the human brain works - and then replicate it in a computer.
His theories (published in the book On Intelligence) are rapidly being accepted by the neuroscience community. He was at the recent O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference in San Diego, and I took some time to talk to him about his theories, how they work and what applications they have.
And while it's got very little to do with Symbian, it's an amazingly interesting talk - which is why I'm sharing it with you all.
