Orange Partner Camp coming soon

The 2007 edition of Orange Partner Camp will shortly take place in Cape Canaveral, Florida (16th - 18th April). The event brings together Orange and a range of industry sponsors (including Symbian, UIQ and Nokia) to create a unique event. Read on for more.

The Partner Camp give an opportunity for companies from the mobile ecosystem to learn from a wide range of sessions and get one on one time with representatives from Orange and the sponsors.

As well as the many Orange sessions with a marketing and commercial focus there are also a number of technical sessions from the sponsors which may interest developers: 

• Target the MOTORIZR Z8 - Undoubtedly the star of the recent 3GSM show, the Motorola MOTORIZR Z8 based upon UIQ 3.1 brings multimedia and mobile broadband to a single device. The session will give an insight into the capabilities of the phone and the opportunities for developers.
  
  
• Easily develop for Symbian OS (P.I.P.S) - 'P.I.P.S.' is POSIX on Symbian OS. POSIX libraries on Symbian OS significantly reduce the effort required to migrate existing desktop and server components, and mobile applications from other platforms, onto Symbian OS. • Exploit location based service opportunities on S60 - Location-based services (LBS) are applications that leverage the user's physical location to provide an enhanced service or experience. In this session, delivered by Forum Nokia, you will learn about the business opportunities and the new technologies that will enable creation of class leading, money making location-enabled applications and services developed using the very latest S60 software on Symbian OS. In addition, examples of how developers have been able to use the openness and flexibility of S60 platform to create innovative and revenue generating LBS applications will be showcased.
