Via the Truphone blog comes news of version 3.0 of the Truphone Wizard. Truphone is a VoIP service specifically targeted at S60 mobile users. The new version includes the ability to make VoIP calls over a 3G connection, better managing of multiple WiFI access points, new presence features and multi-SIM (automatically updates your forwarding number) support.
The split between Nokia's Nseries and Eseries worlds keeps getting that little bit wider, with the release of an Eseries version of PC Suite, following the Nseries version released earlier this week. Presumably the door is now open for specific N or Eseries features to be grafted in.... (Via Darla)
Yahoo Research Berkeley has released a second prototype application to follow on from ZoneTag (uploading and geotagginf photos). Zurfer for S60 phones, is a companion application, allows you to browse photos stored on Flickr. Zurfer allows you to view photos in a variety of 'channels' as well as offering a photo search feature, and the ability to comment on photos. Read on for more.

Nokia has finally revealed the second half of its Mac OS connectivity strategy, with the release of Nokia Media Transfer 1.0 beta, adding to the existing iSync plugins with full sync of your iTunes music and videos, and your iPhoto images, to your S60 smartphone. emoze, the popular and free push email and Calendar service for S60 and UIQ smartphones, has been given a major update to v1.4, with much increased efficiency top of the list of improvements, meaning a smaller hit on battery life. Here's the press release and here's the download page.
Hmm.... Ace detective Darla appears to have discovered a new facelift for PC Suite - she's found an Nseries-specific version over on the N76 Support pages. Anyone brave enough to see how it works with other Nseries devices? I wonder if it offers anything else we haven't seen before....
DreamConnect 3 is an alternative contact manager for UIQ 3 smartphones. The developer just announced v3.02, with improved speed and a number of bug fixes. Review coming shortly from me. The press release is below.
Projekt, already available for every other Symbian-based interface, has finally hit S60 3rd Edition, with a full spread of compatibility. One of the most mature third party applications in the Symbian OS world, Projekt is an outliner at heart, but with links, notes, import and export options, it can be used to manage projects too.
Lines is a classic computer game, to be sure, but maxing out levels can get a little monotonous after a while. Enter Happy Lines, here reviewed by Ewan, promising to put a little more life in the genre, with differently shaped levels and happy/sad counters.
Python for S60 has been evolving steadily over the last year, but v1.3.22, just released, fixes quite a few longstanding issues, including one which prevented proper display of graphical text. Like many other part-time programmers, I can see myself fiddling with Python over the summer - here's the relevant Python discussion board thread and here's the v1.3.22 download page.
