Nokia's E61 had the Finns in a tizz, what with Symbian OS 9.1 and a brand new (for them) form factor. It's clearly aimed at the competition, so how does it look at this stage of its development? Ewan finds out.

Rafe gets a hands-on session with a prototype N92, Nokia's N series smartphone with built-in digital TV. It's a fiddly but intriguing design, with a few niggles to be fixed, but it basically works well.
Thomas Boys, after going beyond the call of duty in acquiring one, brings us this review of the Panasonic X800 Series 60 smartphone. Summary: good hardware and good software bundle but don't buy this for music or video functions.
Ewan breaks into Nokia's HQ and ends up being given a detailed preview of the Nokia E60, perhaps the ultimate candybar Series 60 (S60) smartphone. Summary: it may not swivel, slide or snap, but it'll do everything else bar make the tea.

The American FCC, which approves telecommunications devices, is one of the greatest leaks of new phones, and this time, the Nokia RM-67(N71-1), possibly codenamed "Gromit" after the beloved claymation dog (Update: we're told Gromit is the N90). With references to both flip modes, and a slider feature, there's hints of both the N71 and the N80 in the posted User's Manual. We'll probably see these models announced at next week's Nokia Mobility Conference, where All About Symbian will be reporting live from the exhibiton floor.

Features across the range include memory card expansion and multi-megapixel cameras.
