International (lack of) warranty and phones, phones, phones
A couple of interesting links from IM's Stefan Constantinescu, spotted yesterday. Firstly a tale and mini-rant on Nokia needing to honour warranties globally in this global age. And secondly a super-hi-res poster showing Nokia's phone range from the very start until 2006. Well worth a download.Your Friday game, whatever your smartphone
We do love featuring game reviews on a Friday - Krisse brings us a review of a veritable Symbian classic - S-Tris 2, freeware for just about every Symbian OS-based smartphone in existence!Mippin under the microscope

Opera Mini goes landscape!
The best loved (and free) phone browser in the world just got better. Opera Mini 4 has just hit beta 2, with a mountain of changes, including 'landscape' mode, detailed below. The usual caveats about it using Java and being RAM hungry apply, but that aside, it's just about perfect!

Taking your smartphone music 'in-car'
...In which I review the Proporta Wireless FM Stereo Transmitter, to let you play your smartphone's music tracks over your car radio. It's built down to a price and isn't unique in the gadget world, but it's small, stylish, works quite well and is unbeatable value.Another year, another Show

Want another free alternative to Nokia's free Smart2go? Although available unofficially for much of the world for a while now, it seems that Google has made support for Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom official for its Google Maps for Mobile Java app. If you've got a meaty data tariff or Wi-Fi, it features mapping, routing, satellite images and a business directory. And traffic info, though this wouldn't work for me. See also their YouTube slideshow.

Carlo at MobHappy details a new initiative, Mowser (Mobile browser), with built-in transcoding of web sites as well as a built-in mobile-friendly directory. Well worth a look.
