TipicME is a new instant Messaging J2ME client for the Nokia 7650. It is compliant with the Jabber protocol so can be used to interact with users of multiple IM services. Instant Messaging is becoming increasingly popular on the 7650 and now you have another option to choose from.
Version 1.52 of WirelessIRC for Nokia 7650 has now been released. WirelessIRC now supports DCC file receive and DCC file send (via DCC relay proxy). WirlessIRC is an IRC client for the 7650 and Series 60.
Handy Day the recently released program from Epocware has been reviewed by new reviewer Simon Keenan, it get the thumbs up, as does Handy Safe reviewed by site stalwart Tanker.
Nokia have announced a development competition for the Series 60. Entries close just after the new year so you've got less than 2 months to get an entry in. The prizes are 3650 units and various developer help alongs from Nokia. Judging will be done by both Nokia and other Series 60 liscensees.
Metrowerks have released a lower cost version of their IDE for the P800 SDK. Its called the Personal version 2.0. Its is limited to supporting only UIQ and Symbian 7. Currently this means only the P800, but may mean it will support a future Motorola device. Either way its cheaper than the professional edition retailing at $395 instead of $1395. A new version of Bemused, the program with which the 7650 can control WinAmp via bluetooth, has been updated to version 1.2. Updates include new skins, more functions, more preferences and several bug fixes.
At last a really good file manager for the Nokia 92x0. RedShift have announced the availability of RedShift Commander. This is a file manager for the experts. Looks like Norton Commander for DOS and is packed with features. Redshift Commander can be purchased via Handango for $9.
WildPalm have released Ringtone Studio for the Nokia 7650. The program allows you to speed up, trim or change the sounds for your ringtones (midi). Basically a little midi editor for your 7650.
