Sony Ericsson have launched a new develop website. Previsouly information was available on Ericsson's Mobility World (mophun, Java, Symbian). This will now be available on Sony Ericsson Developer World. There are several levels of memberships (including a free one). Pay for levels have the option to buy phones at discounted prices in an early access program.
In a press release today, Pointsec Mobile technologies has announced it is to release Pointsec, it's high security, cross platform system, onto the Symbian platform. They say "Using on-the fly, user-transparent encryption, Pointsec for Symbian OS automatically encrypts all files before they are stored on a device and automatically decrypts the files again when they are opened, without any need for user intervention". The actual releases will be coming in December; first to the Nokia 9200 series and Sony Ericsson's Symbian based smartphones.
Handango and Sony Ericsson have teamed up to create a software shop from which applications can be downloaded (and purchased) over the air to a P800 or a P900. This represents the first complete Handango catalog to be available OTA.
fastmobile announced this week that its fastchat service is now available on the Nokia N-Gage. As well as connecting you to various IM services (and allowing you to send photos from your phone), fastchat supports VOIP chat (aka push to talk).
In this Reuters article Nokia say they have sold 400,000 N-Gage in the first two weeks. However other reports have suggested low sales in the UK (though these didn't track sales in phone shops).

A developer known on Handango as 'Private' has released an OPL based application called CellTrack; software that does for the 9210 something similar to Psiloc's own pioneering Series60 title, MiniGPS. This application comes in Lite and Pro versions, the difference being that under pro, you can configure Profile changes for different 'cells'.
