It's not every day that a reader points out a utility that I've never even heard of. In this case, thanks to Garvin for pointing out LightNotepad, a freeware plain text editor for S60 3rd Edition. It works on any device, but is especially useful for editing HTML, javascript and other text-based languages on keyboard-equipped devices like the Nokia E90 and E61i. Grab it now! What's that? You can't speak Finnish? You need the English page then 8-)
The latest Nseries, the Nokia N82, has been formally announced. The N82 features a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a Xenon flash, an assisted-GPS. The N82 boasts and impressive ray of connectivity options: quad-band GSM, WCDMA with HSDPA at 2100 MHz, WiFi and Bluetooth. The N82 is available immediately in key markets and sells for an approximate, pre-tax, unsubsidised price of 450 Euros (£315). Read on for more.
Ewan continues his look at the Nokia N81 8GB by loading up his music collection and trying the device for size in the real world, with a variety of 3.5mm stereo headsets. Here's his N81 8GB review part 2 - it's all about the music.
I know it's desperately sad, but it's also jaw-droppingly cool at the same time. LightSabre 1.1 just got released (thanks, Ricky) for the Nokia N95, with faster response and green screen power. It'll be the talk of the Office Christmas party, I tell you...
PiZero is a genius, I tell you. His latest S60 theme, simply titled 'Gold' is stunning and is now standard equipment on the editorial E90 and N95. Why not give your smartphone the gilt-edge treatment, too? Oh, and if you like his themes, use the PayPal button to donate the price of a beer - I did. Party on, PiZero!
We're expecting Nokia to announce the latest addition to the Nseries range tomorrow. However some press shots of the new phone are now available on the Nokia website. The N82 has a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a Xenon flash. Read on for a quick overview and some comments.
I'm still filing this under 'Nokia was mad not to have released the inclinometer plug-in months ago', but.... Aha, someone's produced an app that finally uses the N95's built-in accelerometer to do something really, really useful, day to day. Yep, it's your very own light sabre. Run the app, press the d-pad button and challenge a new iPhone owner to a duel (via Ricky Cadden).
