AAS friend Antony Pranata has been looking at using Mobipocket Reader to gather news offline (i.e. through your desktop) for later reading on your smartphone. Here's his report.
Two new S60 3rd Edition file managers and one more on the way... and all freeware! Y-Browser was released a couple of days ago, SysExplorer is out today and the developer of the rightly famous FExplorer has apparently just got the N80 and I'll bet a 3rd Edition beta won't be far away.
As part of a series of in depth navigation reviews, Steve Litchfield takes Wayfinder Navigator 6 for a spin on the Nokia E61. With prices starting at 100 Euros and compatibility with S60, UIQ, Series 80 and Windows Mobile, Wayfinder has become a major player in this field.
It seems that Flash Lite mini-games are starting to appear. Ewan's been trying out an example, Office Frenzy, and finds similarities to the Game 'n' Watch toys of the 1980s...
ShoZu the photo and video uploader for mobile phones is now available for S60 3rd Edition devices such as the Nokia N80, N71 and N91. ShoZu allows you to send media to Flickr and similar photo and video sharing services. Several improvements have been made to the server side of ShoZu including support for more services (MetaWeblog API and FTP) and more flexible email support.
Nokia's rather nice (and free) Mobile Search tool is now available for S60 3rd Edition devices, listing the N71 and N80 in its compatibility list now, although our friends over at the E series blog show it working fine on the E61, so it's a good assumption that it'll now work on just about anything....
RSS is fast becoming a tool of the mainstream and not a preserve of the geek. Ewan reviews Headline, a new S60 3rd Edition (and 2nd Edition, etc.) RSS client that offers every feature you could ever wish for and which may just change the way you keep up with the world...

You may remember I looked at the first version of OfficeSuite for S60 smartphones and was quite impressed, despite a few niggles. Now the 3rd Edition version is also out and has the same idiosyncrasies - here's the updated review and relevant info/buy links.
Ewan's been trying out a Bluetooth novelty. BlueRader will scan for specific Bluetooth smartphones in your vicinity and alert you when they're close by. Plenty of suggestions for use and a few caveats in Ewan's review. (There's also a S60 3rd Edition in development, by the way)
N-Gage and N-Gage QD owners can now buy and download the rather excellent N-Gage exclusive arcade game Mile High Pinball for just €9.99 from Nokia's online gameshop. Hopefully this heralds the start of more sensible pricing on Nokia's behalf, and some excellent value titles for N-Gage owners.
