Beta Software Roundup

Beta software is probably best avoided by the majority of users, but for others betas allow access to the newest software and the chance to help with the development process. In this roundup we have Cyfer for Series 80, and Aqua Calendar, MobileOffice and EMame for S60. Read on for the details.

S60 3rd Edition 

Aqua Calendar is currently under going beta testing for S60 3rd Edition. Aqua Calendar in a calendar replacement program. The program features extra views and more information packed into the screen that the standard Calendar. You can join the Beta testing in the Pocket Torch forums

EMame is a game emulator platform. You can view more details here. Information about the S60 3rd Edition beta/alpha version is available in the EMame forums, and the latest build / download is available here.

Mobile Office

Mobile Office is an Office Suite that supports the OpenDoucment format as used by OpenOffice, KOffice and others. A beta version is available for S60 3rd Edition and S60 2nd Edition.

Series 80 

Bernd Fix has released a first (test) version of OpenPGP for Series 80 phone (Nokia 9300 / 9500) in the form of Cyfer. Cyfer is a stand alone program which can encypt or decrypt text.

One of my favourites betas (apart from Quake) is Turbo Mobile Event, an all purpose event handler you can program with an xml file to react to calls, sms or gsm tower id locations. 2nd and 3rd edition betas, more info and downloads at :

Is it just me or are both links to EMame dead? Tried this afternoon and tonight, i get a server connection reset error on both pages.
