We don't normally 'do' Sudoku games on AAS - there are just too many - but our own Attila turns out to be something of a Sudoku connoisseur. He's researched the ultimate, the very best Sudoku implementation for all Symbian OS smartphones - and brings us his review of Sensible Sudoku 2.
Want another free alternative to Nokia's free Smart2go? Although available unofficially for much of the world for a while now, it seems that Google has made support for Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom official for its Google Maps for Mobile Java app. If you've got a meaty data tariff or Wi-Fi, it features mapping, routing, satellite images and a business directory. And traffic info, though this wouldn't work for me. See also their YouTube slideshow.
Krisse gets to grips with Lost In The Pyramid and finds a game in which corners have been cut at every opportunity and in which much of the gameplay seems, well, random... Here's the review of the S60 3rd Edition version, but it's also available for UIQ 3.
Well done to the E-series blog for trying out RoadSync and giving it a detailed write-up. In view of negative comments about Mail4Exchange, it's good to see a very fully featured alternative for users of Microsoft Exchange and fans of push email.

Attila reviews Handy Converter, perhaps the perfect currency conversion utility for smartphones. He was looking at the S60 3rd Edition version, but it's also available for Series 60 and all UIQ platforms...
Nokia has gone widget-mad, introducing full widget (mini-apps built on Ajax and Javascript) support into S60, beginning with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 (so we're looking at next year for the first devices with full widget support). Widgets will run under 'Web Run-Time', as explained in the full press release, below.
Ewan's a messaging power user and he's been smitten by a new utility, ThreadSMS for S60 3rd Edition, promising Treo-like threaded 'conversations' held by SMS. Here's the review.
Nokia has released Nokia Video Manager for Windows PC. The software helps you copy videos to your phone and transcodes them on the fly (converts them to an optimal format). Nokia Video Manager supports conversion from avi, mpeg, wmv and mov (DivX, XVid, MPEG-2 and Quicktime codecs) to mp4 (H.264). As such it is only compatible with devices that can play back the H.264 format.
