Thanks to mBrainSoftware you can now read PDF files on your UIQ device. The software enables you to not only open the files, but zoom in and out, follow bookmarks, view in full screen, search files and more. The first public version is a beta.

According to this Symbian press release Fujitsu have released their latest Symbian mobile videophone, the F2102V for NTT DoCoMo, Inc.'s FOMA 3G service. Its an improvement on their earlier model the F2051 and has better battery life and video facilities. It sounds great, its just a shame that its only available in Japan. According to this Digitimes article it is rumoured that the Taiwanese handset maker Quanta is to produce a Symbain smartphone. As usual with these rumours no more details are available and Quanta is making no comments. If they do produce one its possible that it could be for a different manufacturer as they currently produce devices for Siemens and Panasonic Mobile Communications.
New UK law comes into effect at the end of the year regarding the use of mobile phones in cars. This seems a step too far from the anti-mobile lobby. SwitchBlade has a bee in his bonnet again...

Nokia do have a new Communicator, but we're not seeing it just yet. According to this article it may be because of the confused Smartphone market. Marko Luhtala, Director of Business Applications with Nokia Mobile Phones says "...a refresh for the 9200 Communicator series is not top of Nokia's to-do list." So it's not been forgotten...
According to this Symbian press release. Peroon launches S2S the world’s first porting technology enabling a single Symbian OS C++ code line to simultaneously support Series 60 and UIQ. Almost of more interest is E2W that allows for porting between Pocket PC and Symbian. So will we start to see existing Pocket PC applications being ported? Full press release attached...
