A must-read for anyone even remotely interested in developing applications for the next gen of Symbian-powered hardware.
Interesting to see someone on the front line at Nokia confirming that 2GB cards work fine with Symbian OS 9 and S60 3rd edition, at least on the E61 tested. I wonder who'll be the first to get hold of and try a 4GB miniSD? Still, 2GB is pretty jaw-dropping when you stop to think about it.
Nokia's N80 pages have appeared on their web site, with the usual mix of FAQs, documents and add-on software. Which can only mean that the N80 is shipping. Somewhere in the world, anyway!
Orange have announced more details of their latest developer event. The Orange Partner Camp's Platinum sponsor is Symbian, and with UIQ as Gold sponsors and Nokia as Silver sponsors the event looks like the non-Orange content will be dominated by the Symbian platforms. Having a mini-keyboard seems all the rage on Enterprise devices, but what if you're on a device that doesn't have one? Well you could live with T9 input, or look at the Bluetooth enabled Freedom Mini Keyboard. Steve Litchfield has reviewed it, and, while it's got some potential, it's a very niche product.
Thanks to the eagle eyes here, who have spotted that Nokia has released a World clock update for all their Series 80 v2 devices. The countries mainly affected are Brazil, New Zealand, Israel and Australia.
Just spotted this entry on Antony Pranata's blog, announcing the availability of a Series 60 3rd edition screenshot utility. It's a port of his existing app and it's still freeware. Kudos to him for getting it out so quickly and AAS will find this very useful in making our upcoming reviews even prettier.
