In late December an updated version, 1.08 (206), of the Ovi Store client for S60 5th Edition phones was made available. This version should now be available in all markets. To encourage users to upgrade Nokia is offering a number of free gifts when you upgrade. These gifts include free copies of Shazam Encore (music recognition) and Doodle Jump (platform game).

The new version of the Ovi Store application is a minor update. In some circumstances there will be some small performance and usability improvements. The update is available for the Nokia 5230, 5530, X6, 5228, 5233, 5250, 5800i, 5800, C6-00, N97 and N97 mini. 

The upgraded version of the Ovi Store an be downloaded by opening the Ovi Store application. When you launch the updated version of Ovi Store a splash screen appears offering the opportunity to download a number of free gifts. These include Shazam Encore, Doodle Jump, DJ Mix Tour Wallpapers and The Flashlight + SOS (utility application), which have a total value, when sold, of just over £5.

The pick of the gifts is Shazam, a music recognition application. Shazam Encore is the premium version of Shazam that allows for unlimited music recognition and tagging; by contrast the free version is limited to 5 'tags' per month.
