The Nokia E90's free 3D driving game Global Race: Raging Thunder is rather splendid and makes use of the E90's 3D acceleration hardware. But as many blogs (including iGadget and Symbian Freak) have recently pointed out, the game also works near-perfectly on any S60 3rd Edition phone with a 3D chip, which currently means the N95, N93 and N93i. You can download Global Race completely free from Nokia's E90 software support page.
It's..... the daily E-series blog link, this time highlighting the fact that there's a whole new version of Yahoo! Go on the loose. Except that it did nothing for me. Comments welcome if you manage to get it working on your Vodafone SIM-ed smartphone....
LocatioNet has launched amAze, 'the UK's first free mobile mapping, navigation and local search solution', with voice guidance, maps and satellite imagery. As with Google Maps for Mobile, it's Java-based with heavy reliance on a data connection, but it's reported to work with both Bluetooth GPS and built-in receivers. The press release and link follow....
Steve looks at the under appreciated Download! application, here highlighting some of the semi-exclusive content arranged by Nokia for the Eseries communicators. Download! is also available on most new SIM-free S60 phones and offers a variety of downloads including fully licensed applications, themes, add-ons and trial applications. In the article, a UK-based E61i is used as an example of what is available (content varies by phone model and market).
