Smartphones Show 41 just went live, with a hands-on video review of the new Nokia 6110 Navigator, a video version of my in depth look at free GPS navigation solutions and... a plea for help(!) Here's the YouTube version, the MP4 version and the RSS feed.
The Journey, a freeware location-based interactive game for S60 from 'the old days' has just been made available in Symbian Signed form for S60 3rd Edition (and looking very natty on the E90). Here's The Journey download page.
In the great Nokia E90 appreciation pantheon, Ewan clearly falls midway between E90-despiser Andrew Orlowski and E90 uber-fans myself and My-Symbian's Michal J. But, at the end of the day, Ewan's decided the the Nokia E90 isn't for him...
MOSH, Nokia's own (S60) mobile-centric social network is now fully into an open beta and anyone can sign up. The URL is http://mosh.nokia.com/ and looks very promising. Now I'm wondering if there are any tie-ins to the big Go Play launch event on Wednesday....
The official N-Gage blog has now confirmed that the new N-Gage logo seen at the GCDC is indeed genuine. They've also released an animated version of the new logo (click Save As and open it in Windows Media Player). The animation is reminiscent of the one Nintendo used when launching the Wii. This may be a clue as to Nokia's intentions with the Next Gen N-Gage: to appeal to casual gamers and expand the phone game market, just as the Wii has done with the console game market.

There is Nokia's Smart2Go (Nokia Maps), of course, but he also covers the Java applications from amaZe, Nav4All, Yahoo and Google.
There's a small party going on over in Freenode, because one of the few 'killer apps' in my view has finally recieved an update. Previously available for the 7650 and 3650, Mobileways have released an updated version of WirelessIRC for the modern smartphone. Expect a review, but by adding in Bonjour, Del.ici.o.us and Twitter support alongside a million custom features means it may take a while!
According to this post in the CoreCodec Forums the highly anticipated CorePlayer Mobile for Symbian OS will be launched next Wednesday. Nokia is one of the main sponsors of the GC Developers Conference 2007 in Leipzig, Germany, through their N-Gage gaming brand. Nokia's Diarmuid Feeny gave a keynote speech at the event, discussing the potential growth of mobile gaming which could be brought about by making mobile games higher quality, and by making it easier to buy the games in the first place. (via Future Watch) Also, Nokia appears to have come up with a new curvier logo for the Next Gen N-Gage platform, according to the GCDC sponsors' page.
