Slava Monich has released a remake of the classic Arkanoid for the Series 60 platform. In this classic game you bounce a ball off a paddle to destroy a brick wall collecting powerups to help you along.

Nokia 6670 - the next Series 60 phone?

A UAProf (User Agent Profile) for an unannounced Series 60 phone has appeared on Nokia's website. A UAProf is a machine readable description of a mobile phones capability/specifications. The UAProf for the 6670 shows that this is a Series 60 2.1 Symbian 7.0s handset (the same as the 7610) with a 16 bit 176x208 screen. There isn't any information about how the phone looks, but this is likely to be the anticipated business version of the 7610 / upgrade of the 6600.

Vapourware no More: Pathway to Glory Demo Released

Nokia are slowly harnessing the diversity of the N-Gage, with the release today of a demo of Pathway to Glory. One download from the Dedicated Website, copy the files to a blank MMC card with at least 16mb of space, and you'llbe able to play a solo mission, and a bluetooth multiplayer mission, for free. Kudos to Nokia to let everyone have a look at this. Expect a full Preview from AAN in the near future. PtG is scheduled to be released in time for Christmas.

New: S-Tris - freeware Tetris clone

Elements Interactive have announced the availability of S-Tris a freeware Tetris clone. The game has been developed using their in-house engine (Edge). The game features customisable controls, addictive gameplay and increasing difficulty as you play.

New: GeoViewX World Map

GeoViewX is a program which displays an interactive world map. It allows users to scroll across a global map showing information about cities, distances between two points and time zone information. The program can be connected to a Bluetooth GPS so position can be plotted (and speed and direction dials can also be displayed).

Symbian H1 Results - 5 millions phones shipped

Symbian recently released their H1 results. So far 5 million Symbian OS phones have been sold this year. There are 23 devices currently shipping. There are currently 34 phones and variants under development by 10 licensees (some of which we'll see in the second half of the year). The number of 3rd party applications has more than doubled to nearly 3,000.

Updated: PowerNavigation 2 for Series 60

Symbianware have updated their GPS navigation program to version 2 and added an impressive array of features. Intended for use with a Bluetooth GPS the program allows you to view information being received by the GPS unit such as location, direction of travel, speed, altitude and more. Furthermore the program will keep a record of points allowsing 'tracks' to be viewed (a record of where you've been). With accompanying PC software you can create maps that you can then track your progress on. PowerNavigation is a highly flexible GPS map program.
