All About Symbian is delighted to announce that is has joined the Symbian Affiliate Partner Program. As a Symbian Affiliate Partner, All About Symbian will continue to provide independently the broadest reporting of issues affecting Symbian, offering reviews on handsets, applications and hardware, and allowing end-users, developers and manufacturers to come together to discuss the products and services related to Symbian OS.
It looks like Sega's N-Gage titles Alien Front and Virtua Cop aren't going to see the light of day. Now before you start moaning and grumbling that this is a bad thing, think again. While both games were pretty good technically, comparing them to titles like Ashen and Pathway To Glory, they didn't help the N-Gage at all. Releasing games and spending money trying to recover from bad 20% score reviews is not what the platform needs just now. I'd say this is a good move if it's true.

Yesterday DoCoMo and Motorola announced that Motorola would be producing a phone for its FOMA network aimed at business users. The phones would feature GSM, GPRS and WLAN support and would therefore be the first FOMA phone to work outside Japan. Today CBR Online reports that these phone will be powered by the Symbian OS. One possibility is a FOMA version of the Motorola Axxx series running on UIQ. Another is the use of the existing FOMA Symbian UI as used in the FOMA Fujitsu phones. Other rumours suggest that Nokia are also in negotiations with DoCoMo.
UK Network "3" (a 3G network, offering, amongst other phones, the Symbian OS powered Motorola A920) has decided it's controversiall "walled garden" approach of deciding what can be downloaded will remain (reports New Media Zero). "Anyone in their right mind who tries to do anything on the Internet with a screen that size has to be nuts" says Gareth Jones, CEO. Perhaps he hasn't seen Opera's small screen rendering in action on the A925?

Lassi 'glass' Kinnunen & Scott Glover have released Symbnes, a free port of the opensource InfoNES NES emulator. The first release is a preview release and the authors ask for feedback. Features include key configuration, adjustable frameskip, rotation and more.
Based on an article in the Swedish newspaper "Svenska Dagbladet", Nokia will launch in two weeks (launch event on September 8th in New York) a new communicator, 9300.
It's been on the N-Gage.com games list for months (and even longer in the All About N-Gage Games Database), but now Activision and Nokia have officially announced X-Men for N-Gage. The release date has been put back from October 2004 to Q1 2005,and there's some more details on the Arena iteraction (ability to download "new missions and games").
Symbianware have released PowerNotes a program aimed at helping you take notes in the most effecient way at any time to help remind you of an event or an idea. PowerNotes allows you to take Notes in a Voice (recorded) or Text format. You can set reminders and view notes by date, category and more. Worth checking out if you reguarly use your phone to take notes and reminders.
Psiloc have announced a new product - World Traveller for Series 60 phones. The software includes a world clock, alarm, currency coversion, world map and weather forecast modules. Locations can be chosen from the map and information about them such as telephone code, timezone, current time, and distances viewed.
