Psiloc today have made available their suite of 9500 apps before the launch of the phone - perhaps they're hoping all the journalists getting review copies will look at their apps as well and mention them to their readers. Anyway, pop on over to get copies of World Traveller, IrRemote, HotSpot Finder, Data Guard, Secure Storage and Task Manager. They also have localisation packages for Arabic and Hebrew being prepared.
Psiloc today announced the availability of World Traveller and Extended Messaging for UIQ. World Traveller features include a four-day forecaset for 1800 locations, 140 currency exchange caluclator, world clock and world map. Extended Messaging implement smart messaging features on UIQ. These inlcude sending and receiving graphical and flash SMS messages.

Following on from the Series 60 release Agile Messenger 3 is now available for UIQ. New features include an improved redesined user interface, push to talk (send and receive voice messages over GPRS), and several smaller improvements (better support for AIM, ICQ and Yahoo). Agile Messenger allows you to connect to all the popular IM networks from your phone.
Smart Dialer aims to speed up the retrieval and dialing of your contacts in your phone. It implements an auto-complete like fuction. As you begin to dial the software pops up and offers suggestions for what number you might be trying to dial. It works vy looking at either the number you are dialing, or the first or last name (all at the same time). Well worth a look.
MessageManager is an alternative way to store contact groups as well as messages received on the phone. Other features include group SMS send, automatic SMS send and a user friendly interface.
MeetingPoint is a free piece of software which allows you to 'locate' other users using Bluetooth. The idea is that the software will search a certain channel for your contact at a meeting point so you can meet up. The software also allows you to send messages to everyone within range regardless of whether they have meeting point or not (which could get annoying for others).
PhotoRiteSP from Zensis Ltd is a photo captuiring, viewing and editing program for Seroes 60. Features include photo frames, one click auto fix, special effects, different lens', full screen viewing, thumbnailing, rotation and resizing.
The Open Source Ogg Vorbis Project for Symbian OS has updated the Series 60 release, which now features support for MP3 files and AAC files, as well as the open Ogg Vorbis standard. This version will only run on the Nokia 6600, 6620 and 7610 phones (those running v2.0 of Series 60, with the MultiMedia Framework code). Other Series 60 Devices (eg the N-Gage QD) can still get support on v1.0, which supports standard Ogg Vorbis files. UIQ devices can get support on v1.1.

UK Based Digital Bridges (they of all the Mobile Games in CD Cases in The Carphone Warehouse) has been bouyed by the news that Electronic Arts will strengthen the ties with them to assist in the distribution of mobile games, their connectivity technology and continued development skills. (see the Digital Bridges Press Release). Now can someone remind the BBC that EA have heavily developed titles like The Sims for the N-Gage? And that the N-Gage actually exists?
Picostation has launched their new Blogging Tool, PicoBlogger for Series 60 devices. It supports blogs which use the Blogger API, Atom API or Metaweblogger API. This includes LiveJournal, TextAmerica, TypePad and the Movable Type Powered Symbian Diaries, the blogging server hosted by All About Symbian.
Continuing an impressive program of conitnual updates, Wildpalm have posted updates to HeadLine, CameraFX and PhotoArt. New lanuguages feature in all the apps, and there are some minor fixes to HeadLine.
