Psiloc announces extensive Arabic language support

Psiloc has announced that it will be launching Arabic versions of 12 of it's popular Series 60 software titles. Additionally an Arabic version of Psiloc's website and e-mail support for the software in Arabic will be made available. Support for further programs and the Series 80, Series 90 and UIQ platforms is planned for the future.

ZingMagic Switches to Self Publishing and Release Older Titles As Freeware

ZingMagic, the brains behind Chess on the P800 and P900, are now publishing and selling their own applications from the ZingMagic Website. Using a custom web solution from Mobrio, they have all their applciations on-line, and you can purchase them from inside each application. Long term Psion fans will also be glad to hear that all of their EPOC back catalogue is now available as freeware from the same site.

CDMA Series 60 Device Gains Approval

The Nokia 6638, a Series 60 CDMA based device suitable for the American networks has been approved by the US regulators (Mobile Tracker reports). No news on carriers or pricing, but there's probably a lot of US based Symbian fans about to call their operators and demoand they stock it. But what is with the extending ariel?

Latest Canalys report looking good for Symbian (and Nokia)

Canalys' quarterly reports always make interesting reading and Q1 2005 is no exception. Highlights include Nokia having a 50% share of ALL PDAs/smartphones WORLDWIDE and Symbian OS having a 61% share overall. And the report even mentions the success of the Nokia 9300 and 9500, which normally get overlooked by such overviews.

There’s going to be a lot of eyes at E3 – the biggest gaming conference in the world – at the end of May - thanks to today's announcement.

Nokia Nseries N90 - high screen resolution, 2 mp camera Series 60

Nokia have announced the Nseries N90 - a flip 3G Series 60 smartphone. Features include a 2 megapixel camera (Carl Zeiss optics) with integrated flash, macro mode, auto focus, dedicated shutter and zoom buttons and x20 zoom (digital). Video capture is in MP4 at 352 x 416. It is a triband phone and supports both EDGE and WCDMA networks. External screen resolution is 128 x 128 pixels, and the inside screen is 352 x 416 pixels (double the previsouly announced Series 60 models). It is the first Series 60 device to feature a higher resolution screen. The phone screen can be tilted (like the Nokia 6260) and in this mode the phone screen will switch to a horizontal display view.

Nokia Nseries N91 - The Music Phone

More Nseries devices, as the N91 breaks cover. A compact little iPod killer, it's got more than just a 4gb hard Drive with MP3 and AAC support. As well as Triband GSM, there's 3G and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Visual FM Radio, all in a Series 60 package. But we're all looking at the music features, aren't we? The N91 is due Q4 2005, full specs are here.

Nokia Nseries N70 - 3g Series 60 with 2 megapixel camera

As part of their Nseries announcement Nokia today unveiled the N70 a 3G Series 60 smartphone with a 2 megapixel camera. Clearly focused on imaging other camera features include improved desktop and printing connectivity, an integrated flash, x20 zoom, and an improved on board gallery application. Other features include a a stereo FM radio (with support for Visual Radio) and music player. The phone is expected to be available Q3 2005, an EDGE variant will be available at a later date.

Nokia release free Screen Export utility

Nokia have added Screen Export to their 9500 support page. From the description: "This enables you to show the screen of the communicator interface to a large audience with a compatible data projector, or other compatible projection system. The screen content is transferred to the data projector wirelessly using, for example, a Bluetooth connection."

Series 60 Phones Shout Yahoo!

Portal, Services Provider and Search Engine Company Yahoo! and Nokia have announced that the 6630, 6680 and 6681 Series 60 smartphones will be shipping pre-installed with applications that integrate to Yahoo! Existing owners of the chosen phones will be able to download the new application suite to install themselves. There's also the menion of more phones being added to this list later this week.
