What you missed at the AAS Pub Meet
Published by Ewan Spence at
Last Friday, as you all hopefully saw, was another in the highly informative AAS Pub Meetings. A big thanks go out to Sendo for bringing down some early Sendox's, and for taking the time to answer all the questions that got thrown at him (Photos Here). Read on...
So yes, the Sendox. Looks a lovely phone, and everything the 6600 should have been. The impression from Sendo (Rafe and I also attended the launch of the Sendox) is that this plucky little British company are definitly punching above their weight, and are going for it in a big a way as possible. I've no doubt if Sendo get the Sendox wrong the company is going to be in a bad way - but conversely if the Sendox does work, then Sendo are going to be very well placed.
Anyway, thoughts on the phone will be coming from Rafe when the AAS Review Model arrives. To the rest of the meeting. The main room of the Dover Castle was yet again the cosy metin place for AAS, and those that turned up not only had the Sendox to drool over, but a collection of pretty much every other Symbian OS phone released.
Chat and beer flowed freely, with some live IRC'ing on #mobitopia so those who didn;t make could still get their point over.
And of course, the Prize Raffle. The Top Mystery Star Prizes (thank you Nokia), were one by Chris Redpath (N-Gage carry bag) and Mr Sendo! (who is now forced to wear three N-Gage button badges at the next board meeting).
Thanks also to Symbian Press (see David, you did get a mention), Mobimate, XenGames, IzzyHack and Epocware for their prizes as well.
The next meeting is penciled in for Late March - maybe we'll see you there?
