TomTom CityMaps is your personal guide in the city. Just start typing the first few letters of an address or place of interest and in a second TomTom CityMaps takes you there on the map.
For quick and easy journey planning, simply tell TomTom CityMaps where you want your trip to start and finish and if you're driving or on foot. TomTom CityMaps works out the quickest or shortest route, together with the distance and estimated travelling time. This is either displayed on the map, described in step-by-step directions, or shown through a combination of both.
If you're planning a journey by car, TomTom CityMaps tells you about the rules of the road, such as the direction of traffic, private roads and turning restrictions. If you're on foot you'll get the inside track on all those handy pedestrian shortcuts.
Accurate, easy-to-use maps
The picture of the map and your route is clear, colourful and completely accurate. Details like roads, paths and landmarks are easy to distinguish, and landscapes like water, housing and parks are all clearly marked.
The maps are easy to get the hang of too. Move around them by pointing and dragging on the screen with the pen, and adjust the level of detail simply by sliding the pen up and down the zoom bar - see everything from a whole city to a single alley or short-cut.
Connect to the Nokia GPS module and you'll always be able to see where you are on the map. Even if you stray from your route, TomTom CityMaps will show you instantly how to get back on track.
More than just a map
With TomTom CityMaps you'll also discover many new route planning ideas to help get you from A to Z. You can design your journey exactly how you want it by instructing CityMaps to include places of interest or avoid certain roads or areas. It also remembers your recent trips and those important locations like home, office or that favourite picnic spot!
TomTom CityMaps also knows where to find the nearest petrol station, car park, hotel or cinema. And many more places of interest are being added to TomTom's free online archive for you to download from www.tomtom.com.
