Published by at

DreamSpring is a messaging application that allows you to send contact and calendar entries to other mobile devices in human readable formats (txt and wml). Multiple entires can be sent at once to multiple users via Bluetooth, infrared, MMS and e-mail. Defintely worth a look if you're a regular beamer.

Features:

Human Readable Formats
Send PIM information in plain text or WML format, allowing the person receiving the message to read it immediately on their device without the need to import it into their database. Example.

Message Layout Formats
Select from the list of layouts what information to include and how you want them to appear. For example, full details with contact's personal information appear first or only send the contact's work details. See the User Guide for full details of the layouts.

Multiple Contacts Selection0
Select and send information of one or more contacts at the same time, eliminating the hassle of repeating the same action numerous times to send multiple contact details.

Activity Range Selection
Choose the activities you wish to send by specifying a time range. The time range applies at the time a message is sent, so sending Today's activities will always get the activities that are present on the date the message is sent.

Multiple Recipients per Message
Send contact details or activities to more than one person, reducing the time spent sending information to groups.

Supports all Sending Methods
Supports all types of message transfer methods available on your smartphone. That means: Bluetooth, Infrared, Email, MMS.

Supports Common Data Formats
Supports vCard and vCalendar computer-readable formats so that if the recipient wants to import the contact or activity into their own database, they can do it easily.

Import vCard and vCalendar files
DreamSend provides powerful views for importing vCards and vCalendars. You can view all vCards or vCalendars in a file, view the details of each individually using DreamSend's plain text format, and choose which you wish to import and which to ignore.

Powerful Template Management
DreamSend supports template messages. You can fill in all the relevant details of a common message, and then save it as a template. When you open a template, it creates a new message, ready to fill in any extra details, or simply send straight away. Messages in the Sent box work as templates, too!

Customisable Layouts
Create contact and activity layouts personalised and appropriate to the message recipients, giving you more control and less confusion. See the Configuration Toolkit.

Press Release:
DreamSpring Released Messaging Application DreamSend

Gold Coast, Australia, 6 January 2004 — DreamSpring announced the availability of DreamSend, the first human-readable PIM data messaging application for Nokia smartphone users.

DreamSpring released DreamSend, an innovative messaging application that allows users to send contacts details and calendar entries to other mobile devices and desktop computers in plain text and WML human readable formats. At present, PIM data being sent in vCard and vCalendar formats are only computer-readable. That means the recipient cannot read all the information being sent because the device does not have the capability to interpret or display all of the received information. With DreamSend, recipients can read the message immediately on their device without the need to import it into their own PIM application or convert it using another program.

DreamSend allows users to send multiple contacts information and calendar entries to more than one recipient, eliminating the repetitive task of sending the same message numerous times. Messages can be sent in plain text and WML or the optional vCard or vCalendar format via MMS, E-mail, Bluetooth, or infrared.

DreamSend gives users the advantage of sending only information that is appropriate to the recipient. Users can choose from a list of built-in contact and activity layouts to determine which information to include and in what order they are to be displayed. Users also have the flexibility to create layouts that meet their needs.

Details on DreamSend’s features can be found at http://www.dreamspring.com/products/dreamsend/index.html. A trial version is available at http://www.dreamspring.com/products/dreamsend/download/trial.html for users to try before purchase.

On the release of DreamSend, Managing Director Malcolm Lithgow comments: “The beauty of DreamSend lies in the human-readable formats that lets the recipient read the information in full regardless of machine type. It makes sharing contacts and activity information less complicated and more accurate. Our plans to include HTML format in future upgrades will further enhance its usability and add to the user experience.”

DreamSend enables Series 60 phone users to send contacts details and calendar entries with rich formatting in WML or plain text via MMS, E-mail, Bluetooth, or Infrared. The product is available at www.dreamspring.com at US$13.95.
