Author Notes:
This program gives you the ability to look at your blood glucose readings
using different units of measurement. The US standard is milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) and the European standard is millimoles per Liter (mmol/L). Convert your measurement to another.
The unit of measurement you use to describe your Glucose values usually depends upon what county you live in. Milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) is usually the standard of measurement in the United States, while countries using the metric system use millimoles per liter (mmol/L).
As most diabetics, you measure your blood glucose levels with a home-based unit by picking the tip of a finger. When you have you glucose level checked at a doctor they usually will draw a blood sample from your arm and send it to a lab. The lab will use the plasma portion (the blood minus the cells or the liquid portion). Although, both measurements are accurate, there is a difference of about 12%. Here you can convert your readings and compare them to the lab's result. This will also allow you to determine the accuracy of your meter.
