NeoHand, well known Palm and Pocket PC developers have started porting their applications to the Nokia 92x0 using Mobile VB. First up are Pocket Gourmet, Global Advisor, Pocket Bartender and Pocket Vineyard.

All the following information is from Neohand

Pocket Vineyard
Imagine if you could take a wine expert with you every time you went to a restaurant or wine shop. Someone who could tell you if 1996 was a good year for that Bordeaux you were looking at, or what wine goes best with the spicy Asian noodles you ordered from the local Thai joint down the street.

neohand, inc. has teamed up with noted wine writer Amy Reiley to create the ultimate wine guide you can take anywhere. Amy Reiley's Pocket Vineyard is made up of four sections, each designed to enhance your enjoyment of wine.

My Tasting Notes
Can't remember the name of that Merlot you had a few weeks back? Store information and notes on your favorite wines or ones to avoid.

Vintage Chart
Wondering if 1997 was a good year for white wines from the Loire Valley of France? The interactive vintage chart will tell you whether or not it's a good choice.

Food Pairing
You've planned the perfect dinner, but have you picked the best wine to complement what you're serving? The Food Pairing database can help, with solid, interesting recommendations for dozens of dishes.

Glossary
Don't know what the sommelier was saying when he described the wine you chose as oaky? What did he mean when he said the wine had legs? Get definitions for these and over 400 other wine-related terms.

Menu Assistant
Have you ever looked at an item on a menu and not known what an ingredient is? Or how it's prepared? With over 2,300 definitions and descriptions of common and not-so- common dining terms, the Menu Assistant will keep you informed, without having to ask some snooty waiter.

Restaurant Notes
For years you've been keeping restaurant information in your Palm handheld's address book and it's been adequate, but with the Restaurant Notes section, you can use a specially-designed address book that offers you the ability to record your experiences at restaurants.

Tip Calculator
Do you dread that moment, at the end of the meal, when you have to figure out what fifteen percent of $47.36 is? This simple tip calculator will help you calculate the tip and add it to the subtotal and tax.

Global Advisor
Your bags are packed. Your plane tickets are paid for. Travelers checks are in the wallet. You even remembered your passport this time. But are you completely prepared for your trip abroad?

Traveling internationally is not easy. Whoever said that half the fun is getting there probably hasn’t left his parents’ basement since high school. There are so many things to take care of before leaving for vacation that most people don’t give any thought to what they need to thrive in a foreign cultural climate.

That is where Global Advisor TM by neohand comes in. Anyone who’s ever traveled abroad can attest to the fact that things aren’t always the same as home. Then again, if every place was just like home, what would be the point of traveling? The fact of the matter is that sometimes enormous cultural differences exist between one country and another.

Take France and Spain, for example. Physically, the two countries are separated only by a long chain of mountains known as the Pyrenees. Culturally, however, the two countries are light years apart. For starters, they speak two different languages, but you knew that. But, did you know that while what people in the United States would consider to be the "O.K." symbol means "zero" in France, while in Spain that same gesture is obscene?

Global Advisor TM provides international travelers crucial information and tips for surviving the culture shock that occurs when traveling. With information covering topics ranging from Forms of Address and Conversation Do’s and Don’ts to Gestures and Tipping, Global Advisor TM is the one program required for anyone traveling internationally.

The new Global Advisor TM covers cultural etiquette for the following 61 countries: Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.
