Another, Series 60 Trojan

Yes folks this time it's the turn of Dampig-A to harrass your mobile phones. The Register ran the story this morning, in which details explain that the trojan pretends to be a cracked copy of FSCaller by SymbianWare, on installation the payload is to run some copies of Cabir variants and to disable some of your applications. Full details on the Trojan and removal are available at anti-virus company F-Secure's website HERE.

Fortunately although this puts a trojan/virus well and truely in the open as opposed to only being at the AV companies test machines, the simple rules of phone use will prevent you being infected. Firstly don't download or install cracked or warez applications. Secondly if you don't know or trust an application received via bluetooth, delete it - don't install it.
