Mobile Experience Enhancing Accessories Arrive At Nokia World

Published by at

While not directly S60 powered, the accessories announced at Nokia World yesterday certainly would sit happily alongside any smartphone. With a focus on 'enhancing the mobile experience,' the Finns presented a Home Music Station, the Internet Stick and the Nokia Extra Power DC-11.

Nokia Home Music Station

This actually looks like a very cool piece of consumer electronics, and one I'm interested in getting myself. It's an internet enabled radio, allowing traditional FM broadcasts to be picked up, but also streaming radio stations and podcasts. It is also a UPnP device which means libraries on your home computers (and your smartphone) can be played on the device.

Nokia Internet Stick

Potentially coming to the game a little bit too late, the Internet Stick is a USB dongle allowing computers to get online using a 3G mobile network. I think this is more a play to make sure carriers buy Nokia in as many areas as possible, and not necessarily something for the end consumer to pick up.

Nokia Extra Power DC-11

An external battery pack that can be used to recharge your mobile phone when out and about, as well as allowing you to charge two devices at once when at home.
