Nokia Download! extended for games and leisure

Published by at

In Download! on most Nseries devices there's: a new games catalog 'Try for free', a collection of fairly decent native [or at least ported through a runtime] S60 games from 3D Arts; Shockwave Minis, mini-games across a variety of genres; a new catalog of Jamster games (probably all Java); SNAP Arcade, in-house Java game creations from Nokia; 'Just for Laughs', a 'fun' video player and downloader. Can you spot something else new in your device/market? Lots of screenshots below, by the way.

'Try for Free!' leads to a whole new set of ported 'native' 3D Arts games. Each can be played for one session, but once you've 'Exit'ed the game then that's it until you pay up. Good balance for a demo idea.

Alien Pinball and Soccer Pinball are very similar and smooth to play.

Also from the 3D Arts stable is this WW2 shoot 'em up. Again smooth and playable, without encroaching on N-Gage territory too much.

Flash games come to S60 in organised fashion?

I'm 99% certain that these will all be standard Java 'mobile' titles

And games from Nokia's 'SNAP' (also Java) system.
