The American N95 8GB available, 6 months free navigation

You'll probably have spotted in the last few days that there have been reports around the 'net that Nokia's black N95 8GB monster smartphone is now fully available with USA frequency support over the pond. Andrew Leung has done an unboxing, notable mainly for the revelation that Nokia are including a voucher for 6 months free voice navigation in every box.

Nice. Kind of makes the $799 price tag worth it (only £400 SIM Free - come on over, Steve, too bad there's no 2100MHz UMTS, though). I'll stick with my N95-3, but it's good to see that Nokia is sending over the N95-4. Now if they can just improve their distribution and support network, and fix the whole Symbian Signed thing before Apple makes too much headway with iPhone. Nokia is now 3 years into their "return to the US" strategy with not much to show for it. Rumor has it, though, that they have finally convinced AT&T to carry something from the N95-series.

Its good to see Nokia promoting its Navigation and Maps functionality. Even here in India, Nokia is offering the N82 with 2 months of free navigation.

Apparently, the N95-4 DOES support UMTS @ 2100MHz, but it is disabled by default.
Instructions to enable it are here:

I'd really like some confirmation if this is possible, I'm considering buying one but this is an important detail for me.
