More YouTube: a new player and a new demo
Published by Steve Litchfield at 6:47 UTC, December 11th 2007
Now that Adobe's Flash Lite 3 has been 'released', ways of accessing YouTube on a smartphone are starting to leak out. Following a really
convoluted method, there's been the
commercial demo of Mobitubia (mini-site and 9 minute brand new video with appallingly funny English!), and now RotateMe wizard Samir brings us
FLVPlayer - although it's currently hard wired to a few test videos and needs further development. Throw in an updated version of Web and it can't be long until the Holy Grail becomes possible, surely? If you're an end user, go on, donate Samir a few PayPal dollars. If you're reading this at Symbian, PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO HELP SAMIR'S APPS GET SIGNED!! The current Symbian Signed delays for freeware apps are simply ridiculous.

No kidding. I've been waiting for my company's freeware application to get signed for several months - I've lost count how long it's been and given up asking about it.
Unfortunately, there's no way to track it (at least, there wasn't when I last checked).

Don't bother with resource hogging Flash crap, visit m.vtap.com for video downloads , it's like 1000x better than the youtube site and searches all the major video sources.
It quite simply is the dogz b***ks for mobile video, no adverts, no crap, just the vids. And also LOTS of porn :-)

Yes these are youtube video directly on your phone, it's just like a magnificent cutdown version of the whole site, except it gives you 3 different quality levels AND searches many more video sites, putting them into a Youtube style mobile interface face, it's as good as it gets
