Fring updates Symbian client to 4.5.17

Communications tool Fring has received a new client update for Symbian handsets, which you can download direct to your handset from m.fring.com. Bringing together a number of IM protocols as well as VoiIP protocols, such as Google Talk, alongside Fring's own system to allow users to video and audio calls, Fring promises to be a central hub to help you keep in touch, while potentially saving money compared to the cost of making calls over your network provider.

This update is, according to Fring, mostly a bug fixing exercise, but it has also taken the opportunity to improve the video and audio processing of the client for a better user experience, and also to make sure the application is as stable as possible.

Fring has been through the ringer with the recent squabbles regarding Skype being available (or not) in the application, but that is just a subset of what is on offer, and it's good to see that improvements are continuing to be made - there are a lot of Fring fans out there (and on the AAS team).
