While I've been hammering the S60 3rd Edition-powered Nokia N93, Rafe's been having some serious one-on-one time with the UIQ 3-powered Sony Ericsson M600i messaging smartphone. Here's the full and detailed review. Summary? Powerful and innovative, but not all features work well for both one-handed and stylus-driven modes.
Shozu, the multimedia upload tool for smartphones, now supports sending videos directly to YouTube, the video sharing service, from your phone. YouTube is now an optioanl destination for your video uploads. Shozu's advantages is that you can upload a multimedia item just once, but send it to multiple destinations.
This week the Carnival of the Mobilists is hosted by Abrio Mobile News. Despite reaching middle age with its 40 outing the CotM remains as vibrant as ever including the best writing from across the web. New to the Carnival this week is AAS favourite Matt Miller from ZDNet's Mobile Gadgeteer.

Opera recently announced that more than one billion pages have been viewed with its JME browser (i.e. 'runs on anything') Opera Mini. To celebrate, Ewan reviews Opera Mini 2 and concludes that, for his usage, it is the perfect mobile browser.
Presenting the latest Q2 smart mobile device figures from analysts Canalys: Smartphone sales up 75% year on year; Symbian OS powers 67% of units worldwide, Windows Mobile second on 15%; standalone handheld sales down 33% year on year; Nokia sell almost six times the number of smartphones as their nearest competitor. mBrainSoftware have announced the availability of new versions of its popular PDF viewers for S60 and UIQ. New features include support for Type 0 fonts and Chinese PDF documents, owner passwords and 128 bit encryption and file handling and performance improvements. Compatibility with the Nokia N70, N90, 6630 and 6680 have also been added.
