Symbian announced a new version of its OS today. Version 7.0s was formalled announced at Exposium '03. The new version has already been delivered to liscensees. New features include new networking capabilities including multiple PDP (allow several network connections at once), MIDP 2.0 (more standard J2ME hopefully!), and Greek and Hebrew language support.
Handango have joined the Symbian Platinum Partner Program. This puts their relationship on a more formla footing and hopefully we will see Handnago fully support Symbian. Handnago recently released statistics showing that Symbian smartphone owners spend more on software than any others.
Symbian have launched an affiliate partner program. The new program is targeted at a wide range of third parties, particularly small and medium-sized companies, working with Symbian OS. Symbian is, with his move, fostering the ecosystem. This is a really great move, as it encourages development and helps developers in their co-operation with Symbian and the device manufacturers... So thats another exposium announcement then.. (AEA).
