Asphalt 2, the sequel to the popular arcade racer Asphalt: Urban GT, has now appeared on the official N-Gage release list and Nokia has issued a press release about it. According to the list it should be out in November 2005.

The Sony Ericsson Developer World now has RSS feeds available for its content. There are three feeds, latest news, mobile Java 3D, and latest documents, making it much easier to keep up with news and other updates. Quickoffice adds the ability to view, create and edit office documents (Word, Excel and Powerpoint compatible) to your UIQ smartphone. In this review Steve looks at version 3, a recent award winner at the Handango Champion Awards, and finds an impressive on-device office document viewer and editor.
Psiloc have announced the release of the innovative Mobile Mouse for Series 60 (all phones). The phone connects to the PC over Bluetooth (no additionally PC software needed). The PC mouse can be controlled using the navigation keys (for direction) and softkeys (for mouse clicks). Even more impressive technically is camera mode which allows you to control the mouse by moving the phone around (the camera detects the movement and translates this to mouse movement). The software is available from Psiloc's site for 10 Euros.
Blogging's not just for us strokey beard computer fans, you know. Mobrio is slowly carving out a space in the white label mobile blogging engine market in the UK, and the launch of My Kinda Blog, a free blogging system using the My Kinda Place Brand only proves it. They're still a company to watch.
Opera have announced the availability of a new version of their popular Opera browser for Series 60 2.0 (and above) phones. Opera 8 for Symbian S60 is based on the same engine as that powering the recently announced Opera 8 for Windows, as such there are improvement to JavaScript and DOM support. The Series 60 version has a major upgrade to the small screen rendering (SSR) technology.
CameraFX Pro (from WildPalm) is now available for Series 60 v2 phones. Featuring a multitude of picture effects from zoom, colour correction, deformations and frames, it looks like a great companion for the heavy duty camera user.
The Guardian reports that Psion simply can't spend the money it got from selling its stake in Symbian. Looks like the investors are quids in, for a change.
