Why reinvent the wheel? The Eclipse project, an Open Source community has a new member, Nokia, who will be coming on board as a strategic developer and board member. In other words we'll help you guys with some developers and support in "other areas" to work on a MIDP authoruing tool that will be compatible with our phones (and others). Good to see a little more embracing of the Open Source Community from Nokia.
Okay, it's not the fabled N91, but Nokia have pushed out the 6630 Music Edition into the stores, coming with a bundled 256mb RS-MMC, which Nokia labels as holding up to 15 albums of music, which should be more than a match for the 100 iTunes song limit on the Motorola ROKR.
Polar Tigers have posted a late beta of Army vs Crime, a turn based strategy game for MidP phones, inclusing Nokia's Series 60 and N-Gage smartphones. Global Terrorism, multiple levels, and an isometric look that reminds me just a little bit of Syndicate.

More customisating your N-Gag with the Arena Fan Packs, downlaodable collections of wallpapers, ringotnes, sms alerts and custom MMS's and Arena Launcher skins. This time it's Mile High Pinball and Rifts getting the treatment.

There's a sneak peek at Infinite Dreams K-Rally available. It'll be a title you can purchase and install yourself (ie not an MMC Game) but a cross of Micro Machines and Spy Hunter is certainly one to look forward to, especially when you consider just how good Sky Force was from the same people.
Nokia has announced a Blackberry-killing comprehensive business email system, Nokia Business Center. Java-based and integrating with Exchange, Notes, Domino, etc, it's not exactly a pure Symbian solution, but the only smartphones capable of running the client are the Nokia 6630, 6680/81/82 and 9300/9500.
Planning for the 2005 AAS Pub Meet continues, and the first batch of raffle prizes are now announced. The contributions from Symbian Press, UIQ and ZingMagic are only the first of many, but you'll need to be in (the pub) to win. There are a few 'Lightning Talk' slots still open, so if you've got something you thing the Symbian world should hear about, and you can tell us in five minutes, then let us know. As always, The AAS Pub Meet Page carries all the latest news and details. Doors open at 5pm, with the talks and raffles starting around 8pm.
Dan Amir of Peroon has been chatting to Symbian One about the market opportunites open not just to Peroon as a Symbian Development house, but also about Symbian OS as a whole. "... I am sure that at some time in the future there is a huge market waiting for embedded open Operating systems like Symbian OS."
The Sendo X2 is possibly one of the best handsets to never get released. However, that hasn't stopped the Sendo Smartphones website from getting hold of enough content to produce the first (and only) online review of Sendo's last baby, the excellent, if now extinct, Sendo X2.
