Agile Mobile have announced the full release of their Instant Messaging software for Symbian phones. Previosuly available on Series 60 the software is now also available for UIQ. The software enables you connect to the AOL, Yahoo!, ICQ and MSN IM networks and chat with your feidns from your phone. The software is available for free.
Epocware has updated several of its popular P800 programs. Handy 4.0 has more wallpapers, a manual, outlined fonts and a week view. Handy Safe 3.5 and Handy Expense 2.0 both get fixes and manuals, as does Handy Base which is also reanmed to Handy Data Bank 1.1
On Thursday evening I was invited to a preview of the new Symbian handset the Motorola A920 which will be available on the 3 network in UK at the beginning of September (and in other 3 countries shortly afterwards). Nokia and Psion have started negotiations to purchase Motorola's stake in Symbian. This will mean that Nokia's share will increase to 32% from 19% and Psion share will rise to 31%. Motorola says it wishes to concentrate on Java based devices presumably running on Linux. I just wonder how long it will be before they change their minds again?
