Lenovo and E-Mobile Technologies have signed an agreement to embed a mobile book system on Lenovo's Symbian OS handsets. The technology allows access to an online book library, where books, magazines, comics, and newspapers can be downloaded. The press release mentions Lenovo has 3 major smartphone products lines, and it seems likely we'll be hearing more next week. Lenovo have yet to publically announce a Symbian OS handset, but are a Series 60 liscensee.
UIQ selected is a program designed to facillitate and speed up creation of smartphones on the UIQ platform. Members of UIQ selected are software companies with key applications that have been checked, validated and pre-integrated for the UIQ platform. UIQ has announced the first two products in the program: PacketVideo Media Player from Packet Video and the Quickoffice Premier Suite from MDM. The applications are exclusively chosen. Only one application is selected in each area. More partners will soon be announced.

Symbian's Developer pages today announced The Symbian OS Team. We're still not sure if Steam is a good acronym or not, but no matter. This acknowledgment of some of the key players in the Symbian OS Developer scene is long overdue. According to David Mery, "new members will be invited to join the Symbian OS Team on the recommendation of the initial eight members." Most of the team are hoping to show up at the All About Symbian Pub Meet on Monday.
Appforge today announced that it had released software patches for MobileVB 3.0 and 4.0 for advanced performance and security enhancements. The updates also includes some new features addressing the needs of the enterprise developer. Good news for both Appforge developers and end users.
Arima today announced the U300 a UIQ Symbian phone. The phone has a 1.3 megapixel camera and can record video at 30 frames per second and has a built in FM radio. It has 16Mb SDRAM, and 32Mb Nor Flash (its not clear how much will be available to the end user). The keypad slides up and down, in the up position it partially covers the screem, and in the down position the full screen is revealed. The dimenisons are 106x55.7x19 mm (24mm with Keypad), making this one of the smallest UIQ phones available.
Nokia have announced they're shipping Operation Shadow on MMC for the N-Gage. Your favourite N-Gage Store should have it available in the next few days for international ordering. Expect a review in the next week or so...

Nokia Lifeblog 1.0 is now available. This moves the software out of the beta phase. You can download the new version from the Lifeblog site. The trial version allows you to store upto 200 items before you need to buy a license, which is a reasonable 30 Euros. Erik Thauvin has also updated his companion program Lifeblogger to work with the new version. Conincidentally we also published a feature on Lifeblog earlier today.We will be looking at the new version and reporting back shortly.

Aramith's Quest: Lylandra's Revenge is an RPG game and a sequel to Aramith's Quest: The Summoning. The game is an interactive story / adventure based (and like all the best RPG it set in medieval times and has eleves and things prancing about).
The aim of the game in Marble Revolution is to steer your marble through a maze by moving your mobile phone. The steering works by monitoring changes in what the camera is seeing. You can negotiate round various levels and gets powerups (such as cannon shots and teleports).
SoundCheater is an application for the Nokia 9200 which will play a sound (in a loop) when you answer a call. Thus you can pretend to be somewhere you are not by adding some background sound.
