James Trottman has released Yahtzee for UIQ Devices. It's fun and fast, with no silly extra features. And it's freeware. So there's no reason not to have it. The Series 60 version is reviewed here.
Available for UIQ and Series 60, Concrete Software's Texas Hold Em Poker has been dealt a review from Ewan. Multiple versions over multiple platforms, all based on one game. Did they fold under the pressure?
Nokia's Q3 2004 report shows a drop in Mobile Phones sales of 13% from the same period last year. Generally, the trend is upwards in Europe, down in the Americas, and stable in China. Net sales over the whole company are up by 1%. They're looking to the mid and high tier phones (such as the Nokia 9300) to do well in the next few months. Compared to Sony Ericsson, Nokia's figures point more to problems within the company, rather than a slowdown in the market
With 10.7 million units sold in Q3, Sony Ericsson is making a tidy profit (reports SonyEricsson themselves). Of course that includes the low and mid tier devices like the T610, and there's no indication on the numbers of Symbian OS powered phones (such as the P900), but they're showing growth, and not loosing money. Which is good.
We've recieved a bundle of promo material for Nokia's "One" game on the N-Gage, and it brings an important point to mind,. In the past we've always held of going into depth on games until they are released, restricting ourselves to screenshots and broad strokes in the Games Database. Is that what you (our readers) want?
The dedicated Pocket Kingdom website from Nokia is now online. It's still a bit of a teaser site, with a few culled words of wisdom from previews, but bookmark it for the games release in the next few weeks.

Not everyone who reads All About Symbian could make it, but those of you who did attend the Pub Meet last week had a great time. Steve and Ewan look back on our night at the Dover Castle, so you can all see what you missed.
Rafe rounds up some of the thing he saw at expo in this feature. This feature covers a general comment on the expo, talks a little about UIQ 3 and then discusses some of the developer, software and service demos shown at expo before making a few comments on some of the new Symbian hardware on display.
Apart from deciding that Strathclyde University (one of my old haunts) was holding 'a Mobile Conference in England' (it's in Glasgow) and hilariously labelling Symbian OS as 'a small kernel OS maker for mobiles,' Corante understands one key feature of the mobile market. Selling lots of units means you make a lot of money, even if the unit price drops a bit. Put simply, Symbian is a classic representation of Moore's Law.
One of the most all-encompassing applications for UIQ, Epocware's Handy Day, is approaching its third major relase. Before the official launch, there is a short period of beta testing, and Epocware have asked anyone who'd like to help with this get in touch with them. More details in this topic on our Forums.
At least in the Mobile Phone Browser Wares, Opera is winning by a 10 to 1 margin (see this interview with Opera in Business Week). As well as talking about mobiles, there's some nice numbers for the Desktop Market as well. 50% growth on PC's? Nice!
Good friend of All About N-Gage, Russell Beattie, stumbled across the N-Gage QD Roadshow in San Fransisco over the weekened and grabbed some pictures. Along with his news on Cingular advertising the QD, it seems that Nokia USA are gearing up for a marketing push this Christmas Season. With games like Pathway to Glory and Asphalt: Urban GT due out in the next few weeks, it's time to see if they can deliver on the promise of the N-Gage.
