Pit Runner Has Left the Starting Blocks

With the release of Snakes in only a few days, Nokia are previewing their next title, due out in Q3 2005 (reports IGN). Pit Runner is a cross between Interstate 76 and Carmageddon, with you driving your futuristi car against other opponents in the 3-D Field of Battle. More details when we get them.

SlovoEd Dictionaries on the 9500

Epocware have recently announced that its SlovoEd range of dictionaries are now fully compatiable and available for the Nokia 9500. With 30 different languages in 150 combinations the software offers is an excellent option for translation. The software will also shortly be available for the Series 90 Nokia 7710.

Quickoffice Premier 3 now available for UIQ

A new version of the popular and award winning Quickoffice Premier is now available. Quickoffice allows for the viewing and editing of Word, Excel and Powerpoint files. There is improved round trip (the ability to preserve file structure and formatting between the PC and phone) support in the new version since the new version edits the native files directly rather than converting then editing. Other new features include the consolidation of the three suite elements into a single program, a redeisgned user interface, table support in Quickword, more editing features in Quickpoint and improved file handling operations.

Siemens Mobile Phone Division Close to Closure

Siemens are rapidly approaching the point where they are going to shut down their Mobile Phone division (reports The Register). Unless a buyer can be found in the very near future (before the AGM on Jan 27th), or at the very least a partner with investment, there'll be no more Siemens phones. The division lost 140 million Euros in Q4 2004
