MetronomeClick... click... click... click...

That's pretty much all that Metronome does. But it does it well, with a nice graphical representation, and a click that sounds just like a Drill Sergeant's Pace Stick. So why would you want something like this on your phone?

Well for most people, they won't. But for Musicians, Percussion Teachers and Segeant Majors the world over, having a device that can measure out a specific temp in beats per minute (bpm) is indispensible. You can use it for learning new songs, for making sure your band is in time, or to ensure that your cadets are marching at the right speed...

The interface is really easy - left and right change the BPM value by one beat; and up and down change it by 10 beats at a time. You can switch the audio off and rely on the visual flashing indicator, or vice versa. And finally the click... click... noise (being a simple wave file) can be changed to play any wave file (assuming it's short enough to be used sensibly). The only one thing I would change is that it could do with something more than the standard jigsaw piece application icon.

Metronome does exactly what it says on the tin. If you need it, get it. If you don't, then don't. 70%
