Now, pay attention and take a look around. Is Rafe watching? No? Good, because I was supposed to be reviewing Handy Weather for UIQ 3 and, with the best will in the world, this isn't a proper review.
After all, a proper review would set up a chatty intro, it would find problems with installation, points to criticise about the interface and then detail the number of times the application crashed, before finishing with an admonition to the developers and a 'let's hope they fix the bugs' conclusion.
So no, this isn't a proper review, because most of the above just doesn't apply. Handy Weather has been around for a while on all the other Symbian OS platforms, so you know what it does (downloads weather forecasts). It installs quickly and painlessly, being properly Symbian Signed. And the interface is both attractive and flawless. Aside from the UIQ 3 version not including a screen saver mode (not their fault, UIQ 3 just doesn't use these), there simply aren't any problems to report or points to criticise.
Instead, let's look at the screenshots together.....
Viewing the main city index and then tapping through to the five day forecast...
The full detail for a city, for a particular day, along with a nice 'trend' display...
And you can set it to update its forecasts automatically, online, so that it's always bang up to date...
(Pretty, aren't they? They were done on our review Sony Ericsson M600i...)
So whatever you do, just don't tell Rafe this isn't a proper review.... otherwise I for one am not going to get paid this month....
