AstroNix - the high speed action experience full of tremendous graphics, impressive sounds and fast gameplay.
Are you ready to defeat the enemies from a hostile universe? The evil ones are planning to destroy the Milky Way and threaten your galaxy with severe star showers.
Mother Earth provides you with a spaceship to prevent the disaster. You have to release every sector of the galaxy from asteroids by fettering them in a force field. During the campaign you may visit shops to buy the necessary equipment like shields, freeze bombs, traps and new ships. But watch out! Don't be lavish with the precious goods - you will need them in the next level!
AstroNix is a high speed action game for Nokia 9210(i) and 9290 Communicator, which offers a fast gameplay, evil enemies, great excitement, tremendous graphics and impressive sounds. 40 Levels will require your best tactical performance and fast reactions!
The mainscreen.
So what is it ?
The game is based on a familiar and ancient gaming idea ; you have to truncate a square by isolating parts of it. In the square you will have to avoid enemies who are bouncing away in the square. When you enter the square you leave a trace behind you (a line) when you get back to a border of the square the trace/line you left behind will become the new border and the part not longer between the border is now freed.
Astronix has the same kind of gameplay but it has been put in a cool new advanced jacket. The square is now a forcefield that holds your enemies bouncing inside them. Your mission is to truncate this forcefield in every sector until you have achieved the truncate level of that sector (i.e. you have to clear 51% in sector 1).
Like it already ! :)
I'm going to study art ;)
How to die ?
Easy ;p In the forcefield we have to face 3 kinds of possible enemies : First we have the asteroids, these rocks bounce with a speed equal to your own max speed but nevertheless they shouldn't be a big problem.
Then we have the normal enemy ship, this ship is faster then yours so you'll have to watch out.
The biggest treat you will face is probably the enemy flagship, this ship isn't as fast as their normal ships but it shoots with four asteroids.
These enemies will get you killed if they touch you or your lines!
To make things worse there are enemy mines floating around outside the forcefield which will give you a nice Bang on contact.
And then there is the little catch that explode whenever you touch your own lines :) So don't bother trying to go back :]
Your ship - the last hope of the Milky Way
The enemy mine - hinders you from working on your own (opened) territory.
The main enemy weapon.
The enemy ship with advanced engine.
The latest enemy invention. Shoots with four asteroids.
Somebody keep those things away from me... pls?
Am I alone ?
Yes :p But don't fear you have 3 kinds of weapons to assist you in your journey. First of all we have our shields, the shield can be activated by pressing 8 or 1. When the shield is activated your line (not the ship) is protect for a period of time which is indicated by a timer on the right, if a enemy ship now touches your line it will bounce of instead of you exploding.
We also have the freeze option (2 or 9) which freezes all the enemies, this is a very handy weapon and if you use it wisely you could secure a section with only using 1 line!!
The last weapon could prove handy against the flagship, it's called a trap(3 or 0) which you leave behind when you are in the square. When a ship bounces against the ship it will explode.
I said freeze! suckers :]
Me sings "He's caught in a trap..." (plz somebody stop me)
Reload! Reload!
In every sector you will have a freebee floating around inside the forcefield which will become yours when you can get to it. Of course this isn't the only way to resupply . Every sector you complete will give you 100 points + 3 points for every percent you cleared more then was needed. (i.e. if you clear 60% and only needed 51% you will get 51+9*3+100=178). Now these points you can spend in the shop; in the shop you can sell some of your weapons or buy items. You'll be able so go to the shop between every sector, at this time you can also choose to quickly save the game before you perish.
Random prize
Adds 500 points
Protects the line
Additional ship
Freezes the enemy units so they cannot move a limited period of time.
Bumping into a trap destroys any enemy unit
Finders keepers!
The between sectors menu.
Look at that realism, I still don't have anymoney :p

Judgement:
This is a very fun game with good controls, nice graphics and fun sounds.
It's a rather simple action type game but I think it will appeal to many people.
