Sony Ericsson Developer World has just announced the release of a complete package for Web Services development, enabling over-the-air access directly from Sony Ericsson mobile phones to web server based solutions using C++ or Java. 3, the 3G mobile operator, has announced the launch of X-Series. X-Series brings 'flat fee broadband access to mobile'. 3 is partnering with other companies to create X-Series services and applications, these include Sling Player, Google, Orb, eBay, Skype, MSN and Yahoo. X-Series will launch in the UK in December with other 3 countries to follow in the new year. The handsets that will feature X-Series include the Sony Ericsson W950 (UIQ 3) and the Nokia N73 (S60).
The folks over at PDA247 have seen a mountain of traditional PDAs in the last five years. On the editorial team, Philippa has been trying to get used to the Sony Ericsson P990i. Here are her thoughts so far. Summary: low RAM (echoes from our own review) and poor battery life are the main problems.
