Noumena have announced the availability of Mobile VR Pool 2 for UIQ, a sequel to thier original Mobile Pool game. The new game has improved realism and new game variants (including snooker). Mobile VR Pool 2 runs on the Magic Game Station system ( a game run time engine).
Legacy is a RPG game for UIQ phones. Previously available only on Series 80 and other platforms Legacy is a classic style RPG that has won many fans. Following on from all the hype of Amaretto - Nokia's port of Python to series 60. Sometime #mobitopianEnki Boehm has released a Python port for UIQ (test binary available on request). Classic stuff and very much in the tradition of Python on Epoc, where there have been a number of ports in the past from lone hackers scratching their itches.
AnotherGuest,the developer of PicoDrive,GoBoy and many other emulators for UIQ has been playing around as he says.He is working on a Freecraft (Warcraft clone) port for UIQ.This project might never see the light of day because of the hardware limitations (Read more RAM needed) of UIQ devices.All we can do now is hope.Screenshot attached.
A developer named as AnotherGuest has done a UIQ port of PicoDrive which is an initial attempt to make a MegaDrive/Genesis emulator for Pocket PC, using Cyclone 68000 as the CPU core.Read the full story here.Note that the emulator is still in early development stage.A Series 60 version is being developed also.Latest build of PicoDrive with Cyclone core 0.67 is attached.
Sony Ericsson has announced that they will have a new President on June 22. Current President Mr Katsumi Ihara will return to Sony Japan to take up the post of Executive Deputy President and Group Chief Strategy Officer & Chief Financial Officer of Sony Corporation in Japan, and will be replaced by Mr Miles Flint, currently President, European Marketing of Sony Europe. Given the recent improvements of Slaes figures of SE phones, it's safe to say that SE is now on a sound financial footing, and is looking to exploit it's market position.

Arima,one of the newer Symbian licensees announced the Symbian Smartphone ASP805.The smartphone features Symbian OS 7.0 with the UIQ interface, 2.7” sensor screen (208x320 pixels), 64 MB of RAM, 32 MB of Flash RAM, SD/MMC slot and 1.3-megapixel camera.
According to this infoSync World article BenQ has shown an upgrade to is P30 UIQ device the P31. It has keypad and touchscreen, tri-band GSM/GPRS, Java, 1.3 MP camera, Bluetooth and SD. The aerial is now apparently inside the device. Its not clear if the P30 is still coming out or if this new device replaces it.
