Mobimate have updated their Traveller's Utility Worldmate for 2009. The major addition is a dashboard like home-screen that provides an overview of the most popular functions inside Worldmate, including flight tracking, weather and your current location, as well as the familiar Worldmate icons allowing you quick access to the world clocks, currency conversion tool and the comprehensive flight scheduling tools.

Worldmate Gold costs $30 for a year's subscription, and this is mainly for the flight scheduling tools. Without subscribing you have access to the weather forecasting, world clocks, currency converter and day/night world map view.

Beyond the UI, there does not seem to be a huge change in Worldmate 2009 over Worldmate 2008, but given that app scored an impressive 90 when we reviewed it last year, it's still a great application for the mobile traveller.
