How shall we count thy benefits - Handy Taskman reviewed

Published by Steve Litchfield at 8:16 UTC, July 6th 2007

New staff writer Attila Katona has been sitting on this review of Handy Taskman for S60 for a couple of weeks - but I managed to wheedle it out of him! Meanwhile I've been trying the latest (and rival) Best TaskMan and have been equally impressed. Nothing wrong with having two terrific utilities that are both available in trial form...

Thanks for the review! I am using HT since 2 months back (E61i)and like it very much. Also has it installed on my P910. On my P910 I can "Compact memory" but canīt find this option on E61i. I was reading somewhere that this option was included but....Can yoy check it out Steve?

Go to memory separator - options - compact memory.
Attila
Memory separator? in the s60 v3 version? *confused*
nj7
How can explain that:con? ... After Handy Taskman opens, you have the possibility to use the right joystick movement, and go to second menu (separator:con? ) and on that second menu - options - compact memory.
Attila
It's probably me and my slow brain but on my E70, Handy Taskman v1.01 has no Compact memory in the Options menu.
not on the 'Open' (currently running applications) screen and not on the 'Recent' (20 last apps you used).

are we talking about the same thing?
nj7
No, is not you... and we are not talk about same thing, indeed;)
I said on Taskman 2.01, and not 1.01...
I donīt remember about 1.01:frown:
Attila
plus you were talking about Best Taskman and not Handy Taskman.

I shouldn't be so insecure, I know :)
janptr
That seems that there is no application nowadays to compress memory in the s60 v3 version, I might be wrong but couldīnt find it on Taskman from SymbianWare either. At P910 SMan works great for this feature as well.

Yes, Best Taskman...Is Handy Taskman the subject? My excuse:redface:
To deal with memory, there is a software call MemoryUp - Mobile RAM Booster from MobileStudio Inc.. If it works well and real improves phone behavior, is another thing, that I donīt know for sure.
janptr
Sorry I was wrong. I found it as nj7 said but at Taskman but not in HandyTaskman. Strange that Epocware not included that.
Attila
janptr - it is strange but they might just include it in a next version - we will see

nj7 - I haven't heard about MemoryUp but after checking out its description on AAS, I'm not sure if I would pay $13.99 for it without trying first :)

I understand you... But I donīt know also if it improves the memory behavior of S60 phones. I only know that exist...
Maybe an AAS review soon about MemoryUp.

Hi all,

Since my conversion to S60 this is one app that i have used on all my devices i actually consider it a must have app and one that i recommend without hesitation. I like the fact it is so uncomplicated and easy to navigate and whilst it might not have quite as many functions as Best Taskman it does all i need and does it well IMO.
