ViewRanger reviewed - Satellite Navigation off the Beaten Track
Published by Ewan Spence at 9:47 BST, May 23rd 2006
Steve's the GPS fan in the AAS offices, and he's been trialling ViewRanger to find out how GPS and navigation works when you're away from the road network. ViewRanger gives an annotated panorama of the hills and valleys in front of you. Read why Steve was so impressed.

And whilst only available for S60 v2 at the moment, I've been reliably informed by the company that v3 compatability will be available within a week. At which point I'll load it up on my N80 and hit the countryside on my MTB.
This looks a seriously useful piece of software, with licensing from OS. It's about time someone came up with something other than just more street mapping.

Wow! This combined with the Nokia 5500 (once it's updated to support S60 V3) would be fantastic! It's just a shame it doesn't appear to cover the Isle of Man :frown:
[edit]
Scrap what I just said. Apparantly it does cover the Isle of Man for both mapping and panoramic data (although you have to get the full Great Britain version).
